David Robbins is a multifaceted individual with a diverse range of roles. He is both a client and a board member of Guide Dogs of Texas, contributing a unique personal perspective to his leadership role. He is a pastor, teacher, financial coach, business consultant, husband, and father. Despite facing the challenges of glaucoma since the age of 16, David has demonstrated resilience and an ability to inspire others. At 49, he had to reimagine his life as he became legally and functionally blind. Undeterred by his visual impairment, David underwent extensive training in Orientation and Mobility (O&M), learning to use a white cane, Braille, and technology reliant on sound. A graduate of the Criss Cole Rehabilitation Center in Austin, TX, David now adeptly navigates life with the assistance of his guide dog, Price, provided by Guide Dogs of Texas. David serves as the Lead Pastor at The Sanctuary in Kerrville. He and his wife, Melanie, are the proud parents of three children.
