Helping blind Texans to increase their freedom, mobility and independence H2
We breed, raise, train, deliver, and monitor Guide Dogs H3
Guide Dogs of Texas provides quality guide dogs for Texans who are visually impaired to increase their freedom, mobility and independence. We are committed to personalized service and lifelong dedication to our clients and their guide dogs.
We are committed to personalized service and lifelong dedication to our clients and their guide dogs. H3
Guide Dogs of Texas (GDTX) is a small, non-profit, Guide Dog school located in San Antonio Texas. We exclusively serve legally blind clients who are residents of Texas. We breed, raise, train, deliver, and monitor a truly exceptional line of Guide Dogs from our home campus in San Antonio. Then we travel, anywhere in the state, to the home of our blind clients for the final phase of training. There the client and the guide dog are bonded into a team over a period of several weeks. This demanding, but rewarding, process results in a guide dog team that is familiar with, and extremely effective in, their home, work, and social environment.
Volunteers with us H4
Guide Dogs of Texas greatly appreciates its volunteers, and we could not exist without them. As our organization continues to grow, we are ever in need of more volunteers, and we encourage you to join our team.
Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age or accompanied by a responsible adult. All volunteers are asked to complete the following: a background check, tour of the campus, and an interview process.
Name a Guide Dog puppy! H5/H6
Name a beautiful bouncing baby future Guide Dog! For a donation of $1,500 you can name a recently born or future guide dog puppy!
